Oktoberfest 5K & Tom Thumb 1 Mile Run For The Children

This past weekend, some of my wonderful family and friends got together for a GREAT cause!

Most of us ran the 1 mile fun run while Liza and John ran the 5k. So proud of those two! John said they did in under 30 minutes!

Here's the purpose
To raise money to support Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer’s vision of a day when all children are living…cancer free.

The stats have yet to be posted not I am not sure how much money they were able to raise. When I find out though, I'll post it.

After the run, we got free German beer, free breakfast (chips, cheese & crackers, bagels, bananas, donuts, nuggets, and water).

After the race, the kids got the goodie bags and we headed into the tent. The kids got a free concert from Eddie Coker and us adults got free beer and we went shopping......we stuffed our bags full with free bagels, chips, and what ever else we could get our hands on!

Eddie Coker called school aged kiddos to come up on stage for one of his songs.

Unfortunately, due to the Presley's birth date, she isn't in school this year. She cried and cried that she could not go on stage. So when the show was over, I asked Eddie Coker if he's take the girls on stage for a picture. He did. She was better...but still sad she didn't get to go up there during a song. Maybe next time.

After the morning run and concert and beer and stuff, some of us headed over to our hotel room to let the kids eat and wind down for about an hour.

Then off for some CARNIVAL FUN!

1st up, Presley wanted to win a carnival fish. And she did!!!!

Then she wanted to ride the ferris wheel and that's where we ran into grandma. Looks like she got stuck holding everyone's crap.

She was soooooooo giggly! Her 1st ferris wheel ride.

Presley gave her Pops a high 5 for being brave on the ferris wheel.

Then we went on this fast spinning ride! Presley screamed and laughed the entire time!

Finally she woke up and got to ride a couple of rides!

Presley wanted to ride again too, and I couldn't take them both by myself. So John took one for the girls. He's terrified of heights and rode anyways. He didn't let go of that pole either!

That was a total blast! Can't wait till next year!

Here's Presley's carnival fish and it's new pink home. When we went to buy the tank for her fish, we had to buy Piper a fish too.

Presley's is the larger bright orange one and Juliet's is tiny one. Presley name her fish Lucky Carnival Fish Carrell. And Juliet named her fish Nemo Fishy Carrell.

Well, Nemo Fishy Carrell went belly up over night. We had to send him to Fishy Heaven via the toilet. After we flushed the poor thing, I had to pee. So I used the girls toilet to pee and Piper nearly had a cow! She threw her hands up shaking them at me, saying "No mommy, no mommy, don't poo poo on the fishy!" No one could use her toilet until she forgot about that fish. She was soooooo funny!

So since she had a dead fish, I took the girls back to the fish store to buy another 10 cent fish. But the lady told me that they will continue to kill themselves in our 1 gallon tank due to the amount of ammonia that they create. So we decided to move Lucky out to the pond and just buy a snail and a betta for the girls to share. Now everyone is happy and all the fish are well.

BTW, our betta is Dobey and the snail is Coke.
