Having Fun and Being Proud!

This morning I had to take care of some Room Mom business, so I left Piper at home with her Pops.  When I got home, I threw some clothes on her and we ran John to work (he left his bike at work yesterday, so he has to ride it home today).  So anyways, I planned a nice morning for her to have some fun.

1st we hung out at The Tubes for a while.  We've been here a few times over the last few months.  I found out about it through another mom that I met at Pump It Up over the summer.  The girls love going here...although the last couple of times we've been, we've been Presley-less.....So Piper gets kinda scared going up in those tubes by herself.  Luckily the last time we went, there was another little girl that played with her.  BUT this time.....it was all MOMMY!  So thankful that those tubes were clean!!!!!  It was tough work climbing thru those tubes too!  But it was all worth it.  Piper had so much fun and the smiles and giggles she had from me having fun with her and climbing thru those tubes were priceless!

After The Tubes, we went to the Library for Preschool Storytime.

They had a Teddy Bear Picnic today!  If I would have done my homework like I normally do, I would have known that and Piper would not of been the ONLY child without a teddy bear!

I am so sorry Piper.  She had fun regardless though!  She sang, danced, and had great listening ears during storytime.

Jules and I had a wonderful FUN and FREE morning!!!!!!!!!!  She makes me so happy!

After nap time, we went to pick up Presley.  When Presley got home, she decided we needed more mice to put up around the house.  So she got to cutting!

 

OH & BIG NEWS!

She came home a MUSTANG STAR!!!!!!!!!!!

I cried!!!!!!!!  I am so proud if her! 

The Star Students are recognized on the morning announcements and called down for a well deserved accolade from the principals and counselor.  And they get their names on a star in the front hallway!

 

She was so excited when they said her name went out over the loud speakers!

I couldn't be a prouder mom of a kindergartner!!!!

Some Final Spooky Touches....

Oh Boy!!!! I can't tell you how excited that tomorrow is October!!!!  I love HALLOWEEN!  I started decorating this past weekend.  John tried asking me a couple of times if I realized that it was still September!  It's never to early for Halloween! 

Yesterday, Piper got all dressed up in her cowgirl costume from a couple of years ago.  She said, "Okay Mommy, I am ready for our party!"  Poor thing........we aren't having a party this year.....maybe next year.  :(

Then when I picked up Presley from school yesterday, she was begging me in the car to let her have a Halloween party!  Again, Poor poor thing....we aren't having a party this year....maybe next year.   :(

Anyways, Piper and I added some more spookiness to the house today.

The unfinished paint job on the fireplace makes it look even spookier! 

We even have little black mice running around!

 And my favorite little guys!  Aren't they darling!

Poor Weebles!   They may not fall down, but they do make good spider food!

So excited!  Can't wait till we decide on costumes!

Did You Know...

That September is National Sewing Month????? I saw a sign at Jo-Ann Fabrics. How cool is that!!! Good thing I have been feeling crafty this month!

1st thing I have been working on this month are my girls smocks.

They turned our so super cute!

Then I made us some Halloween placemats.

They are so so super duper cute! The girls LOVE them!

And I also found out that Cuddles, Presley's class bear, needed a new bag. I couldn't find a material that was cute enough for both boys and girls so I decided to make two of them. One for Girls and one for Boys!

They came out really really cute! I am going to have to make myself one!

And John has even gotten into the spirit of National Sewing Month! He has started working on his Halloween costume!

I can't wait till October so I can start decorating!!!!

Tonight Presley started making some chocolate lollipops for her classmates. 1st time trying to make something like this....it was uncharted territory for us.

1st she tried painting the 1st coat of chocolate to make the smiley face. That didn't work out too well though....

Then we figured out we could just use the squeeze bottle and make the cute smiley faces! This made the process much quicker too.

We chilled the faces, then added the melted chocolate and sticks.

And there you go....Chocolate smiley faced lollipops! They came out so cute & Presley did it mostly by herself for her classmates!

She was super thrilled at the end product!

We ran out of chocolate, so Piper and I will have to run and get more tomorrow so Presley can finish these in time for Fun Friday!

Mommy's Lil' Helper

Today Piper and I set out to do some errands.

* 1st we went to the Tubes to play. There Piper made a friend to whom she was mean to and had to be put in time out. But her new friend forgave her for being mean and they continued to play for about an hour. Piper has some major spunk! She's a feisty one!

* 2nd we ran up to the vet clinic to grab Maggie Belle some Sentinel. Gotta keep our Mags healthy!

* Lastly we ran to Sprouts! They had some awesome sales on their fresh produce today! Piper was such a HUGE help! She took her own buggy and did some shopping of her own! I remember I use to do this with Presley too (Pre-Piper).

Getting herself some plums...red ones, not the black ones.

She picked some organic unsweetened applesauce, some healthy as possible bread, more fruits and veggies. Now she is looking at the herbs. This was seriously too cute. at one point she tapped her chin with her finger and said, "hmmmm, let me think."

She's a happy girl! She has herself a snack for after lunch and a snack for her and her sister for after school in that lil' brown bag.

And she really loved that after lunch snack....chocolate covered pretzels. This mess was only after two of them!

She's my lil' helper and I love her to death!

Home Sick

Presley has missed her 1st day of school. I am sure she'll be out for the rest of the week too.

Tuesday night, Presley started running a temperature close to 102 degrees and she complained of a bad sore throat, her nodes were so swollen, had a headache, belley hurting, and her allergies were bothering her. It's almost noon and I can't get her fever to break. We'll be making a trip to the doctors office in the morning if it doesn't go away!

She was pretty bummed when I told her she couldn't go to school. Maybe this will teach her to quit putting her fingers in her mouth!

Oh and yep, that's the Wii remote attached to her wrist. Sponge Bob has been keeping her company all morning long.

9/16/10 Update: I ended up taking her to the doctor because she looked so miserable and was shivering all day yesterday. So the doc says clinically every symptom of hers points to strep and of course her allergies have been acting up lately. BUT the quick strep test came back negative. So we took a 2nd swab and it's been sent to lab to double check. The doc said I may have just brought her in too early for it to show up. So we went to Target and got her meds. They have worked so well! Her fever broke this morning and she is so ready to go back to school tomorrow. I'll find out if she actually had strep or not tomorrow or Saturday though. Either way, she's good to go and will be noncontagious by tonight.

9/20/10 Update: the culture results finally came back. It wasn't strep after all!

Paper Me!

Presley brought home a family fun project from school. As a family we are suppose to decorate a paper doll to resemble Presley and all the things that she loves. So here is the end product! Doesn't it look just like Presley!

Carnival Fun
