Ha-Ha

Piper's latest "ha-ha" moment consisted of me looking through my purse to look for a piece of gum and to pull out an empty pack of it. She was right next to me and looked up at me with those big blue eyes and bright dimples and said,

"Ha-ha, I eat all your gum mommy. Ha-ha, you need to buy more."

That little Stinker!

The Deep Thinker

In this last week, Presley has been doing some real deep thinking and asking hard questions.

Three of the hardest so far:

1) "Is God Real?" I asked what she has heard. She said that they tell her on TV that God is all around your heart. I asked her how that made her feel. She smiled and said that it made her feel good. I smiled back at her and told her that is all that mattered. John and I don't want to ever sway the girls one way or another when it comes to that. I am sure more deep discussions are coming like that in the near future!

2) "Why don't I have Daughter's Day? You have Mother's Day, Daddy has Father's day, but I have nothing." I told her that she has her birthday days. She responded with that isn't anything like Mother's or Father's Day because Nate and all of her other boy cousins also have a birthday so that doesn't celebrate Daughter's Day. Then I told her that I cherish her every day and I don't need just one day to celebrate her being my daughter. She said she wants a Daughter's Day. Then she proceeded with just picking a day for it.....EVERY TUESDAY!

I can't win, so we called Grandma Beth. And came up with a great idea. We'll celebrate us all being daughter's at the Butterfly Garden in Fredricksburg when we go down there. Whew...Presley agreed to that! That EVERY TUESDAY business would have made us go super broke!

Then while we where walking around Walmart, I mention in passing to Presley that all women where daughters. That confused her so bad! She disagreed and said that her grandmother's mom have passed so they aren't daughters anymore. So we had to have an entire discussion in Walmart about that until she understood that even if a mommy passes away, her daughter never stops being her daughter.

3) "Do kids pass away?" Whewwww.....Deep breath. How to I answer that? She asked me this as I drove. My answer to her, "Yes, unfortunately it does happen." I explained that a child could pass away the same as an adult could via accidents or illnesses. I asked why she asked that. She started to tear up and said she never wanted to pass away. She and I were both fighting back the tears. I told her that it is mommy and daddy's job to keep her safe and healthy so that never happens.

WHEWWWWW! How come she thinks of these things? Do any other kids...5 year olds...ask these same hard questions?

The Big 3 Year Check Up!

Juliet went in for her 3 year old check up yesterday.

Here's her stats:
Height: 36 1/2 inches tall (50%)
Weight: 26.2 pounds (25 %)
BMI: 13.8

Topics hit on:
Nap time, still needs 13-14 hours.
Peanut butter, since Presley is starting school...we need to go ahead and introduce it to her.
Vitamins, I can up her dosage to one entire vitamin since her hemoglobin was fine (via finger prick...not cool by Piper).

She's growing perfectly fine! Right on target! She's my beautiful healthy girl! And lucky Piper got out of there with no shots, she won't be so lucky when she turns 4 though.

April Update

This is gonna be a long one, it's been a busy month....
WARNING: There are a ton of pics in this post. :)

April 02, 2010
The month started with a little gift that came in the mail from Jessica. In the box was some of John's favorites (Moon Pies), my favorite (lemon tea cookies), and two gorgeous little bracelets for the girls. What a great start to a busy month.

Pops is helping his little ones out dying Easter eggs.

While the dye is setting the girls helped me fill eggs.

1st gymnastics class at the local rec center & Maggie meets Nina

The girls had a blast, but I was horrified! This class was so unorganized and the teachers had no clue what gymnastics or tumbling was! I was so close to pulling them out of class but saw how much fun they were having. I did however end up taking them from that class a week later when the instructor didn't show up the following week.

After gymnastics, we headed home to meet Nina! She belongs to Ethan and Zenon and is absolutely gorgeous. She is also every bit as sweet as Maggie too.

They actually wore each other out! I thought that was impossible for Maggie!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIET!!!!!!!!!!!!
Piper's party was full of activities and games! The theme was Dora and Diego. We had pinata bag decorating, coloring sheets, a little pastel donkey pinata, sand box, pin the tail on the donkey, hula hoop contest, musical seats, face painting , and just good old plain fun! John grilled fajitas, he set up a little kitchen out in the driveway. Us women had to help out by cooking up some of the meat in the kitchen. I need a BIGGER kitchen!

Nate's an old pro!

Birthday girl! I cannot believe she is 3!

Musical seats! This game brought out the sore loser in some of the kids (my kids)!

I dug out my sewing machine and totes of old material too! I am on a monster making craze!

April 16, 2010
Poor Maggie had to go to the vet today to get all of her vaccines up to date. And for her 1 1/2 year check up. She's perfect said the vet! Yay! Now she is ready for more Doggie Play dates and our up coming trip down to Fredericksburg.

April 17, 2010
I didn't get any good pics of Nater's party! :(
But today we went to his house for his big "9" birthday party and helped him celebrate and then us mom's rounded up the kid's and headed to the mall and the men headed out for a guys night.

We did a little wedding dress window shopping with Kim and Liza and I had our short lived "Williams - Sonoma" moment. I did get a perfect egg timer. And it works!!!!!! John loves my hard boiled eggs!!!!!!!!

April 19, 2010
Super Doggie Play date! We had Twig (Meagan's dog), Juno (Xenia's dog), and Nina (Liza's dog) over. Those pups played all day!!!!!!!!!!! Juno was the 1st to arrive about 10 in the morning and Twig was the last to leave about midnight. Maggie and Twig finally crashed about 730 or so.

All four got along so well too! I was so happy! We laughed so much too!

Maggie started humping all the dogs! She's a girl! Everyone tried convincing me that it is dominance thing! How embarrassing! I still cannot believe she was humping the others! I've never ever seen that before!

I couldn't help myself, these are the three most beautiful little girls ever! And I love that they love my monsters!

While the doggies had their party, us girls had a little tea party.

They are just so freakin' cute!

We caught Piper spinning little Helena.

Xenia and Little Helena had to head out early. I am going to miss you two when you move to Germany!

Juno says buy to her friend. ~sniff sniff~ They were having so much fun!

After Liza and Xenia left, Meagan and I did some crafting and the girls did some napping. Then we ordered pizza for dinner. And for the bedtime activity, John and Meagan played a game with the girls.

Those two are pooped!

And they are out!

Here are my little monsters that I am making! The girls have me making one for all of their cousins and friends! I have four done and a whole bunch more to go!

Welp, that's been my April thus far! Very Interestingly busy I tell you! Hopefully I can keep up this blog so they (my posts) aren't all so long!
