Monday Eye Strain

This is Red Ribbon Week at Presley's school.

Each Kinder class got to decorate a wooden sign to place in front of the school.

Here's ours!

I worked on it from 8 this morning till 130 this afternoon.  My eyes and back and neck are strained, but well worth it!  K-1 will love being surprised with their sign in the school lawn tomorrow afternoon.  I love being a part of putting smiles on their faces! 

I did take a break for a few minutes to watch Piper nap. She is so beautiful! I watched her for about 20 minutes.  I could have stayed longer but had to get back to that sign!

Weekending

We had a fantastic weekend!

Friday, John had to work till after midnight so I put the girls to bed at their usual seven o'clock bedtime, did some laundry, and fell asleep on the couch watching Cake Boss.  Super relaxing start to a busy weekend.

 

We cleaned out Presley's school folder and came across a dress that a classmate made for Presley's Barbie Dolls.   So cute! 

Saturday morning we got up and headed out to meet Cindel and Stephanie at Bonkers for some fun.  It was so loud and so packed so many kids, I think I almost went a little bonkers!  Didn't help that the girls threw a fit when we had to leave!

After Bonkers the girls and I ate lunch with John, Stephanie, and Cindel.

Then headed to the mall for a gift for Stacey's birthday dinner.

Rosa's Cafe Tortilla Factory is were we met the Ragan's for Stacey's B-day dinner!  YUM!

After dinner, John headed out to go fishing with Uncle Robert over night and the girls and I headed out to the book store and then home for a nice quiet movie night.

Look at all the wonderful books we got!

Girls camped out on a pile of blankets and fell asleep watching Bugs Bunny and Garfield.

Sunday, we went wedding dress shopping with Kimberly....I can't show any pics because I am not sure what dress she liked.  Don't want to jinx anything!

It was a great weekend.

My husband even came home with a few fish he and Uncle Robert caught.

More Darndest Things

Fall From My Daughter's Sweet Little Lips...

This morning I was writing up a list of stuff to do & people to call.  One of my words ended with a question mark meaning I was questioning what I had written. 

Piper saw my question mark and said,

"Mommy, why do you have a  "hmmm" on this paper????"

Kids Say The Darndest Things!

Yesterday morning we were drivng out of the neighborhood heading to Bonkers and we came across a poor poor house that had been toilet papered in a major way! There was TP everywhere! Those kids didn't miss a spot!

Anyways, the girls were in complete AWWWW! Presley said, "Oh Cool! When I grow up, I want my house to look like that!"

We'll see.....

It's A Spooky Success!!!

Scary Skeleton Turned Girly!

The girls changed their minds about hundred times about what they wanted to be for Halloween!  They finally made a decision!  Whew!!!! YAY!!!!

1st Piper wanted to be a Black Cat, then a Ghost, then Tinker Bell, maybe Dorothy, maybe a Cowgirl again, and then a Princess, then a Bunny, then maybe a combination of them all.... URGGGGG

Presley wanted to be a scary Ghost, a Witch to Piper's Black Cat, a Princess, a cowgirl, Darth Vader, a combination of all of her past costumes that barely fit.....

Then she saw it at Walmart......a Skeleton!  She wants to be a Skeleton this year.  Then Piper saw it and Piper wants to be a skeleton this year.  So they are skeletons this year.

Which is fine because it was super inexpensive!  And super easy!  Presley tried on a Skeleton costume that she saw there.  It was a GIRLY one!  Tutu and all!  Super cute!   BUT it was too big and SOOO cheaply made!  So we didn't get it.  But I think even though it was a cheap costume, we wouldn't have gotten it if it had fit just because it would be done. 

So we were on the look for a girly skeleton costume in her size.  When we were walking towards the registers, I saw the perfect alternative!!!!  PJ's!!!!  They were glow in the dark skeleton pajamas!  They had a size for each girl and they were warmer than the costume AND half as much as the costume. 

Now all I needed to do it make a skirt to make it GIRLY!  Totally Do-Able!  Mommy's crafty!

I went to Joann's Fabric, my 2nd home, and bought some black broadcloth, scary spooky gauze, and some elastic.  And I had tulle at home, so that was free! 

And in an afternoon, Presley had a Girly Skeleton Costume made!  All we need are little finishing touches, like maybe some spooky stuff in her hair, face paint, black gloves, and her black chucks.  PERFECT!

Oh, best thing......they can wear the pj's over and over again!

Road Trip!!!!!!!

We took another raod trip to Fredericksburg over Presley long weekend off of school! It was a super nice trip. We got to spend some quality time with Grandma Beth and hang out at the ranch with the rest John's wonderful family!

We took the LONG route there in the hunt for the perfect plate of BarBQ! By long route, I think it took about 8 hours to get there! But we found some pretty good BarBQ. Not the best, but it was good. It wasn't like up here in the DFW area where you get a huge selection of sides. Down there, you got potato salad, cole slaw, and beans. I only like one of the three.

Back on the road to Grandma's house!

So we spent most of Friday on the road, we did finally make it to Grandma's house about 7:30 ish at night.  We just hung out there for the rest of the night.

Saturday, we went to the Ranch!  That was FUN.  The girls had a blast and LOVE the country!

We went for a walk to hunt for rocks and the cow kept following us.  I think they thought we had food in the red bucket!

Sunday afternoon, we spent packinh up and the girls played on the front porch and with Joey.

Last, very important stop, The Spunky Monkey!  A must!  The girls favorite toy store ever!  Even better that cousin David works at it. :)

We had a GREAT trip and I look forward to our next one!

The School Picture....

I have learned that they haven't changed much. Still the same old drab background.  But OH MY how sweet they are!!!!

We just got Presley's back.  I dug out John's Kindergarten picture too.  And mine as well.  I don't know if it is a school picture or not, but I am about 5 years old in it.   I have to get these three framed.  And we'll add Piper's to the wall when she starts kindergarten.

John...he swears his mother never combed his hair.  I absolutely love this picture!  You can already see his personality in it!

My sweet sweet Presley.  Wearing an outfit her Grandma Ragan bought her.  So exciting!  Her first school pic! 

And me....looks like I was just healing from another trip to the hospital from some stitches I got due to playing at Grandma Ragan's house.

Fall Baking Has Begun!

Piper and I made some cookies today.  Sugar cookies with M&M's smooshed into them.  Piper's says they are super yummy!  And her sister and Gilbert (the little boy we bring home from school) will love them.  I love the Fall season...makes we want to bake all day long!  I am hoping to have some bananas ready to make some Chocolate Chip Banana Bread tomorrow.

I think I may be a little obsessed with my little beauty!  How many pictures of her eating a cookie can I take?????  I can take tons! 

I love the happiness a simple M&M cookie brings to her!
