It's What Weekends Were Made For....

What a weekend...it was a great one. We didn't accomplish much house work this weekend. But that's okay, we had a whole lot of fun doing other things.

Saturday, we woke up and headed to downtown Carrollton to a nice little tea shop for some vanilla tea that tastes like your drinking a vanilla cigar. It doesn't sound good, but it really did taste good. I enjoyed a couple of cups of that this weekend. And while walking around down there, we spotted a sign for the best walk ever! I'm gonna have to gather a few girls up and go check it out!

After visiting Old Downtown Carrollton we headed to Down Town Dallas to uncle Roberts shop! And I tell you.....who needs a backyard when you have the city to play in! The girls had soooo much fun playing with their cousin Brandon. By the way, that little boy is such a gentleman and a sweetheart!

We walked around the corner to 7-Eleven for some gum and a slurpee. YUM!

After hanging out with Robert, Richard, and Brandon, we were suppose to of met up with everyone for a birthday lunch for my mom, but she wasn't feeling well so it gone postponed at the last minute. So we decided to take the girls to the zoo since it was such an amazingly beautiful day!

After the zoo, we headed home to get a little house work done. John sprayed texture in the girls playroom. The darn thing kept getting clogged and then he ran out of texture to mix. Never again will we own a fixer upper!

After house work, John and I facebooked and watched Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. Why do most of vampires have to be ridiculously hot????

SUNDAY OH SWEET SUNDAY!!!!

I saw NEW MOON in the theater with Liza and Karen!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!! Since in my daydreams I am Bella, Edward told me that I was his heaven!!!! Oh how sweet is that! And last week, I finally got to the library to check out the 1st book in the series. 1/2 way done with Twilight. It'll be done by tomorrow, I am sure of it!

After spending the afternoon with Edward, Jacob, and Bella, I headed home to John, Meagan, and the girls. We went to Moo-Yah for dinner and then headed back up to theater to see Princess and the Frog.

It was a great weekend. And a great end to February. It was a pretty good month with the exception that John had to leave town for Valentines weekend!

Story Time!

We had the best time last night with the girls at the Coppell Public Library!

We are just now starting to check out what the community has to offer. So I went on-line to find out what the library out here did for kids. I found 2 different story times that they could participate in together. So from now one, we'll be there every Tuesday at 7pm & Thursday at 1030am.

We had a great time last night there! They have an entire room devoted just for story time. That was an entire hour of songs, reading, dancing & wiggling, and crafts! Last nights theme was farm animals. The girls had so much fun.

They got an hour of story time there, then checked out books and got more story time when I dropped John off with the girls at home. I had to head to the store so he put them down to sleep by himself.

Anyways, I was thoroughly impressed!

Also this week, we have gone and toured the local YMCA and the Coppell Rec Center. We have free guest passes for both and are trying to decide which to join. They both have it's perks. Anyway suggestions??????

Fit For A Couple Of Princesses

Well the girls shared bedroom is finally starting to come together! It's about 3 months in the making! Since November anyways! Whew!

Okay, this is when we came to see the house.

Facebook post: This room looks okay, but if you look closer there are so many stains in the carpet that weren't visible during our walk thru. AND the smell of this room was horrific! Just like a cat liter box! PIPER IS ALLERGIC TO CATS! She's been sick since we moved in! We had to go buy her a special HEPA filter air cleaner thingy!

The HEPA filter has worked for Piper. She was sick with allergies for about the 1st month and a half that we were here.

Did I mention that when we bought the house, we also bought a carpet cleaner vacuum thingy. Well when we walked in the house, we QUICKLY realized that thing would not have done a bit of good! So we ripped out the carpet to help rid the house oft he smell of cat pee!

By the way...that didn't work. So John started ripping out walls.

And ceilings....the cat pee has to be gone soon!

Okay, time for the new ceiling to go up!

And the insulation is installed!

A couple of weeks later we finally got to texturing!

And I thought painting ceilings was horrible....could only imagine what this was like. John said that bucket of wet texture that he's holding over his head was so heavy!

Our new textured wall! YAY!!!! Time for paint!

New Textured Room! Now I have to paint the concrete! Cat pee smell....be gone!

Did I mention that I strongly dislike painting ceilings! What a pain!

We still have a lot to do in there, but until John gets back from Philly, this will more than work for them. They were super happy to have a room! A pretty one! Piper said, last night, that she was going to laugh in her new room and sleep and twirl all over it!

Things we still need in here:

~ carpet

~ crown molding

~ trim

~ chair railing

~ blinds cleaned and some sorta curtain

~ closet doors needed another coat of paint

~ Piper wants a big girl bed like her sister

~ Closet needs a rod

~ and some decorating!
