Our Lil' Fredericksburg Vacation (part 1)

I have been working on this post for weeks now. It's taken forever since something very weird is going on in the blog world. My pics get odd things done to them, they have errors uploading, blogger locks up on me....UGGGG!!!!!!!!! Makes me agitated!

So, I am fed up trying to complete this post, so before Christmas came, I wanted to share a little of our Fredericksburg vacation! We had a blast! The country was so inviting and comfortable! We could not have asked for better weather either!

Friday
Lunch with grandma pretty much started our vacation! Mexican food...my fav!!!! So yummy!

After lunch we headed out to Lady Bird Johnson Park for a little bird and snake watching, rock picking and skipping, and some hiking! So much fun!

Here you can see a hummingbird! I love hummingbirds! They are so tiny and pretty!

Then we started our hike and came across some sweet smelling honey suckle! It brought back sweet memories from my own childhood of me and Stacey tasting the honeysuckle from our own front yard! I loved and hated that bush! Loved it for the honeysuckles..hated it for all the darn bees and bee stings that came with it!

We had the girls try some of nature's sweetness. Presley was very hesitant. She wanted Piper to go first. Presley kept asking us, even way after she tried it, "are you sure this won't make me sick?" and " are you sure this is safe?".

Hiking...follow the leader!

Stopping for a few poses!

Presley loved all of the cacti! Here she is posing with it!

Digging for cool rocks and shells

Pops teaching the girls to skip rocks....it probably would have been better if the girls had been paying attention.

Look at all of the greenery and wild flowers!

While we were hiking, Piper and I got ahead of John and Presley. So we sat on some rocks waiting for the other two to catch up. While we were waiting, a volunteer showed us an area to watch for a possible snake. So we sat and waited....

And here comes John and Presley and just as soon as John stepped over the hole......the freakin' snake jumped out! SCARY! That was pretty cool.........scared the crap out of John though!

That was the end of our hike. We headed back to Robbye's house and napped and met Grandma and Joey at the Wildseed Farm. That place was pretty cool. Flowers EVERYWHERE!

I saw this bird bath/flower planter. I wanted that thing so bad.........but it was like $150!

So many beautiful flowers, look at these snap dragons! These were HUGE!

Butterflies were everywhere too.

We did so much more on this day. We went out and did some deer watching. I have pics...but am tired of trying to post them. I might just have to try posting a part two....

Sunday
Kiddos tracing each other...kinda creeps me out when they do this...

On our way there and on the way home, we stopped by the coolest rest area. It had the cleanest bathrooms and a playground with paths to walk and stretch some legs and a work out area. Pretty neat!

Well, I shall definitely create a part two to our lil' Fredericksburg vacation. Many more pics to post!
