The Month of May.....Where did it go???

May came and went in a flash!
I didn't do much blogging in the month of May. I had a bad neck strain that kept me from using the computer for long periods of time.......and as we all know, blogging takes time.

May brought many things:
Trip to Fredericksburg
Allergies for both Presley and Piper
Strep For Presley
Mother's Day
Doggy Play dates
Sports classes
A trip to the new Giants of the Savanna
John's birthday
and many other things!

April 30 - May 3rd
We started out the month with a Trip to Fredericksburg!
You can check my last two posts to catch up on that trip. It was tons of fun!

May 5th
Then we attended a Sporties for Shorties class at the recreation center. The girls learned to play basketball in their 1st class. Presley loved it! Her competitive personality was made for sports! Piper's on the hand....not so much! She spent most of the hour being Piper and belly spinning on balls. She's so easily distracted!
After class, we walked over to the park for a bit!
May 6th
I had to take Presley to the doctors office! poor thing had strep! AGAIN! What gives. Seems like she has it every other month or so. I can only imagine how much more often she'll catch it when she starts school in the fall!
Speaking of school in the fall, we also went to Presley's Kindergarten Round Up at her elementary school. We got to meet the four kindergarten teachers and some of the other staff. I am a little concerned that two of the four are pregnant. I am all for having babies......just not on my kindergartners time. :) I know that's wrong, but I am nervous that Presley is going to be in a class with one of the pregnant teachers then get attached, then the teacher leaves, and a sub comes in for weeks. I just want Presley to have stability in her 1st year of school. I am probably over exaggerating, but I am a little over whelmed that I am going from seeing Presley 24 - 7 to having to release her into the world by herself! Anyways, I am sure it will all work out! I hope anyways!

May 7th
Piper has a fever for a few hours. I take her to the doctors office just to get swabbed for strep. I take no chances with that darn pesky illness! Turns out she just has allergies.......bad ones that require a little help from Nasonex and Zyrtec.

May 8th
Mother's day weekend!!!!
We went to Lowe's and ran into on of Presley's best friends, Cindel! That was a nice treat!
John and the girls hooked me up with tons of quilting quarters for my monsters and other projects!
May 9th
Mother's day!
What a nice and LAZY day!
All I really remember about this day is I slept a lot! That was the best gift ever! I don't know how many naps I took! I remember looking at the girls during dinner and smiling and thinking, "Geeze, maybe letting the girls run on auto-pilot all day isn't such a great idea." The had green dots from head to toe. I suppose they got bored and wrote on themselves with a green marker. And every time they would wipe their mouth, they'd get that green marker all over their mouth. So the picture below is my sweet children on auto-pilot!
John and the girls treated me to the best Hot Dog Mother's Day Dinner ever!
May 10th
Meagan and Twig came over for a doggy play date.
Here they are sharing Twig's bone. What a gentleman.
May 12th
Today they learn soccer! Again, Presley loved it! And t hen got a taste of what it's like to have a little boy aggravate her for her attention. She was getting so mad at him. I told there is a lot of that to come. John told her next time that happens that she needs to stand up and address the parents and ask, "Who does this kid belong to????????"
And just like last time, Piper didn't want to have much to do with that sport either. She spent most of the hour sitting in my lap, posing for pictures with the soccer ball, and sitting on the ball.
May 16th
We start another project in the house. We attempt picking a color for the living room walls.
Here's what it looked like before. It was dark and gross. It had a fan that didn't work.....wasn't even wired!
NOW, we have a ceiling fan and lights that work. It's gorgeous too! Black and pewter! We have a white ceiling and are thinking about painting that beam black too....not sure though...just thinking about it. And our walls are light and bright. If that makes sense. It reminds me of a vintage green muted apple and banana. I like it!
The three colors in our living room now.
May 19th
Another sports class, I didn't get any pics of this class. My neck hurt worse this day than any other day so far! So I was so absent minded! Anyways, they played baseball! And loved it! It kept both of their attention! YEAH!!!! Hip Hip Hooray!!!!!
After class we ran errands and I took myself to the doctor for my next. I get lots of drugs and am told to take it easy! Like that's possible! But I do......I rest a lot, the drugs force me too. They knock me out. I just had to learn to tweak my dosage by cutting the pills in half.

May 22
We head to the zoo bright and early for the Giants of the Savanna opening! It was wonderful! They have LIONS! And giraffes you can feed and touch! So awesome! It was great, but crowded. and the hour that we waited in line was totally worth it!
The had a this elephant behind in a building in the Savanna. Presley smacked it's hiney and it roared.......it was sooooo funny! How often do you get to say you got your picture taken with an elephants booty?
We let the girls pet the baby goats, Piper kept chasing them around like she chases Maggie around. Then she's catch them by their hips like she does Maggie and smile and giggle.......and get in trouble!
After leaving the zoo, we headed to Tejanos for lunch and had the server surprise John with a birthday sopapilla. YUM!
May 23rd
John and lil Dave started the morning going out and shooting their guns (at a range). And the girls and I spend 5 hours baking his perfect Mocha Mousse Chocolate cake! It was divine!!!!

That afternoon, my mom and Kim came out to help us sing Happy Birthday to John. After having a slice, we all headed to the dollar theater. John and I saw Alice and Wonderland. Kim and the girls watched The Toothfairy while my mom watched the back of her eyelids.

By the way, Presley says that the toothfairy is suppose to leave 5 dollars!
May 24th
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN!!!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately he had to work. But we went to the new Tortilla Factory for dinner when he got home. He had a nice low key birthday!

May 25th
Since resting my neck, I had to finish my painting job, so I finshed painting the back door back and one of the kitchen walls to match the living room. Under that nice green paint is a ton of wall paper that I also had to remove!

Before...
After....
May 26th
Last day of the sports class. Today was free day. They did the big ole parachute, jumped rope, hopped in the ladder thingy, hula hooped, and ran races. They had a great time!
After the rec center, we walked to the park for a bit.
May 27th
The girls got ready for some much needed pictures at JCPenny's. I am so behind on getting their pictures taken. And Presley wanted her hair curled so she'd have curls like Piper. So we gave it a try. The curls were big a bouncy until we stepped outside and she started sweating. But her pics came out great!
May 29th
Memorial weekend, we skipped the family reunion to work on the house. But if we are going to be at home all weekend, we had to take the girls out for a little fun and Memorial Day Sale shopping!

We headed to Grapevine Mills Mall. Presley dressed her self and it could not have been a better outfit that she picked out. We ran into Batman!
They had a kids thing going on and the girls got loot bags, made cookies, and colored, and got to do a few other things.
May 30th
John ripped out the hall closet and that entertainment area that was built in to the master bedroom. While he worked on that, the girls enjoyed hanging in their pool and having an ice cream.
May 31st
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

Today at lunch, Presley breaks the news to me softly while stroking my arm that the easter bunny isn't real, he's just a strange man in a bunny suit! I looked surprised and upset, then she told me, "well maybe he is real." Then I asked her, "if he isn't real, then how'd he know exactly what you wanted in your basket?" Her response, "I dunno know, he's just a man in a suit." Then she turns to John and asks him if she can tell Piper he isnt real. He says NO! Then she tells Piper, "The easter bunny is real Piper, okay."

Ugg! She's never been much of a believer. Gosh, I hope she believes in Santa till she's a little older!

May 2010 was great! I hope June 2010 is just as interesting and fun!
