Over this past weekend we finally got to go on our camping trip at Lake Ray Roberts. It was short lived for the girls and I but while we were there we had fun!
Presley woke up Friday morning telling me her teeth hurt...I'd tap and tap them and she couldn't tell me which one hurt. So I dismissed the pain...and told her I'd take her to the dentist on Monday. Then when we finally got out there to Lake Ray Roberts, she started grabbing her mouth crying telling me her teeth really really hurt! So I take another look and see a big sore on the side of her tongue. At first sight it looked like she just bit it but as the day and night went on, the sore got larger and larger and the pain got worse and she wouldn't eat or drink. It was so painful to her! I felt awful! I told her I'd take her back to Dallas in the morning to see the doctor. She wanted to stay and be brave for the rest of the weekend...but I couldn't let her be in that kind of pain all weekend long.
After we got the kids to sleep Friday night, John, David, and Nicky took a long bike ride down some sandy paths....they were kinda huffin' and puffin' when they returned. Also when John rode back up to camp in the dark, Maggie wanted a piece of him. She didn't recognize him at all. She was growling and showing teeth and everything! I was so proud of her! It was very weird that she did that too....I was just telling Liza before that happened that she was lover and not a fighter and a worthless guard dog! But now I know different! And while they were gone, Liza and I finished off the Kahlua and had a beer. We talked and giggled all night long, at least til 4 in the morning.
So, we head to bed and I wake up at 7 with Presley crying. I just threw on my clothes and grabbed her and headed back to the house to shower and get to the doctors office. Her lymph nodes had gotten huge during the night too. So when we got to see the doctor, she looked at her tongue and diagnosed her with a mouth ulcer and then did a strep test (it's pretty protocol there) and surprisingly it came back positive! The doc and I were bother very surprised. So that was it....no more camping for us that weekend. Presley was devastated! We went out there to get out stuff and grab Piper and Maggie. While I was doing that, I asked John to take Presley on some trails with her bike, just to make leaving a little easier for her.
Anyways, like I said, we had fun while we were there. We missed out on smores and the big breakfast though. :( There's always next time!
Here are some of our pics!
We had that truck packed full! Poor thing was putt putting along!
See how excited the girls are to get to go camping!
Juliet is just double checking that John hammered the stakes good into the ground.
Maggie trying to snag some of Presley's food.
We walked to the beach with the girls. It wasn't bad walking there, but walking back in wet flip flops was a different story.
Maggie is not a water dog! She was ready to get out of there!

Saturday, lunch time!
Not sure who he is sticking his tongue at...
Road runner!
John wanted to take the girls on a hike before I took them home.
Presley's photography, pine cones hanging from the tree.
Pretty cool!
Presley's photography, horse poop.....
When we got home, I bathed all the girls including Maggie, fed them, played with them, and put them to bed.
So I ended my Saturday night with the girls all snug in there bed and Maggie Bell and I snuggled on the couch and watched Marley & Me. OMG that was sooooo sad! Maggie tried cheering me up by licking the tears from face. What a sweet puppy!
