Oktoberfest 5K & Tom Thumb 1 Mile Run For The Children

This past weekend, some of my wonderful family and friends got together for a GREAT cause!
Most of us ran the 1 mile fun run while Liza and John ran the 5k. So proud of those two! John said they did in under 30 minutes!

Here's the purpose
To raise money to support Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer’s vision of a day when all children are living…cancer free.

The stats have yet to be posted not I am not sure how much money they were able to raise. When I find out though, I'll post it.

After the run, we got free German beer, free breakfast (chips, cheese & crackers, bagels, bananas, donuts, nuggets, and water).
Here are some pics!

Juliet running! I love it! Everybody was pointing at her. So cute!
Liza! You go girl!
John! You go boy!
Goodie bag time! I think Presley was digging for that coupon for those free carnival rides!
After the race, the kids got the goodie bags and we headed into the tent. The kids got a free concert from Eddie Coker and us adults got free beer and we went shopping......we stuffed our bags full with free bagels, chips, and what ever else we could get our hands on!

Juliet and I...all icky, smelly, and sweaty!
Eddie Coker....he's looking a little icky too!
The kids on the dance floor!
Look Liza, it's Ethan!
Eddie Coker called school aged kiddos to come up on stage for one of his songs.
Unfortunately, due to the Presley's birth date, she isn't in school this year. She cried and cried that she could not go on stage. So when the show was over, I asked Eddie Coker if he's take the girls on stage for a picture. He did. She was better...but still sad she didn't get to go up there during a song. Maybe next time.
The boys and their free beer! I hope Carl realized that this isn't that cheap beer....
After the morning run and concert and beer and stuff, some of us headed over to our hotel room to let the kids eat and wind down for about an hour.
Then off for some CARNIVAL FUN!
1st up, Presley wanted to win a carnival fish. And she did!!!!
See the winning ball!
Then she wanted to ride the ferris wheel and that's where we ran into grandma. Looks like she got stuck holding everyone's crap.
She was soooooooo giggly! Her 1st ferris wheel ride.
WEEEEEEEEEE....we are high in the sky!
Our crew!
Presley gave her Pops a high 5 for being brave on the ferris wheel.
Juliet was wiped out!
Then we went on this fast spinning ride! Presley screamed and laughed the entire time!
Then the girls rode the tea cups
Then the flying elephants
Juliet still snoozing!
Finally she woke up and got to ride a couple of rides!
Juliet and her 1st Ferris wheel ride!
Presley wanted to ride again too, and I couldn't take them both by myself. So John took one for the girls. He's terrified of heights and rode anyways. He didn't let go of that pole either!
Fun House time!
That was a total blast! Can't wait till next year!
Here's Presley's carnival fish and it's new pink home. When we went to buy the tank for her fish, we had to buy Piper a fish too.
Presley's is the larger bright orange one and Juliet's is tiny one. Presley name her fish Lucky Carnival Fish Carrell. And Juliet named her fish Nemo Fishy Carrell.
Well, Nemo Fishy Carrell went belly up over night. We had to send him to Fishy Heaven via the toilet. After we flushed the poor thing, I had to pee. So I used the girls toilet to pee and Piper nearly had a cow! She threw her hands up shaking them at me, saying "No mommy, no mommy, don't poo poo on the fishy!" No one could use her toilet until she forgot about that fish. She was soooooo funny!
So since she had a dead fish, I took the girls back to the fish store to buy another 10 cent fish. But the lady told me that they will continue to kill themselves in our 1 gallon tank due to the amount of ammonia that they create. So we decided to move Lucky out to the pond and just buy a snail and a betta for the girls to share. Now everyone is happy and all the fish are well.
BTW, our betta is Dobey and the snail is Coke.

Rainy Days and Night Owls

Today was a rainy day! Very rainy day! It rained all day! But that's okay, we need it. It just made me tired and lazy! It made us all like that. The girls pretty much ran on autopilot till about 9 this morning. We had plans to go to my friend's, Xenia, baby girl's 1st birthday party. But that didn't work out as planned. Presley was nearly in tears all day because she missed a party. That girl LOVES parties! So we went to have lunch at Genghis Grill in the Galleria mall. I had a coupon for a free birthday bowl....so that made my meal even yummier!!

That bowl of food is bigger than her!

They brought me out some chocolate brownies and sang happy birthday to me. Sweet!

Somebody loves chocolate!

After lunch, we met with our realtor for a bit and spoke to him about houses....(duh, of course).

After that, we were all so sleepy. So we went home to take a nap before trying to head to Greg & Xenia's house for the last half of the party. And that was about 3 o'clock. We didn't wake up till almost 7!
7 PM people!!!!!!!
We were tired!
And the kids were bored stiff when they woke up. And John and I were irritated..don't know why....just woke up moody. He more than me..I think. So we decided that it was too late to go to Xenia's, too late to go to Liza's, and too early to put the girls back to bed. SOOOOO we braved the wet weather and went and hung out in the bookstore. I love book stores!

The girls grabbed some books and made themselves at home!

Seriously, I think Juliet thought she was really at home.
Funny!

We left there about 10 and realized we hadn't eaten dinner. So where else to go other than DENNY'S! YUMMY.....Breakfast for Dinner!

Take a look at these crazy cups! They held two different drinks! The girls had apple juice on one side and lemonade on the other.

What shall I have.....

Presley and her Pops worked on the word finder puzzle.

Juliet is so funny! I love that face!

I love coke! So addictive! I need to stop!

Juliet had a mini burger and grapes.

Presley had breakfast for dinner....Grand Slam Jr.

After dinner, it was raining to hard to leave so we hung out and did alot of giggling!

Piper was cracking us all up.

This was the nicest Denny's I have ever been to. Look at all the nice cold beverages you could have.

Still too rainy to leave. So John asked Presley if she could stick out her tongue and touch her nose. It took a while, then she got fed up. So John showed her that it was possible. See....

Then he asked her a very complex question: What part of your body can you touch with your left hand but not your right hand and vice versa.

Your Elbow!

Can you pat your head and rub your belly?

While John and Presley were playing games to pass the time, Juliet was being my little ham.

We left there close to midnight, got our little night owls home and into bed. And it is still raining. Poor Maggie gets soaked every time she goes out to pee, too.

We didn't get to do anything we planned on doing today, but it was still a good day.
