Say Cheese!

Today, we went to JCPenny's to get the girls pictures taken. They did so good! The girls up there know them by their names and love taking their pics.

Presley practiced her smiles in the dressing room. Piper practiced being difficult. But she ended up giving us some great shots. Once she got the hang of being a ham, she even walked in on someone else's session.

After we left the mall, we headed for some lunch, a movie (Walle-E), and some games at Gatti Town.

After our fun at GattiTown, we headed home to work in the backyard. We needed to plant all those flowers we had left over from the party. And I stained the birdhouse the girls built and suctioned them to the windows.

And suctioned to the window... don't mind the dirty windows. I cannot remember the last time I cleaned the glass. It was probably at John's B-day party last year.

And know the girls are fast asleep and I am all caught up on my daily blogs. I'm very happy and after I get some Motrin in my system, I'll sleep well.

Easter Time!

We had a wonderful Easter Holiday with the family. Karen and David hosted the Easter lunch at their house and she made her first ever turkey. It was mighty yummy! I so over did the eating too. There was so much food!


After we ate, the kiddos headed outside for an egg hunt. The little ones hunted in the closed off back yard and the bigger kids went out front to look for the more difficult to find eggs. They all came away with a ton of candy. Little Piper was sneaking pieces of chocolate into her mouth.


And the weather couldn't have been better, The ground was a little wet, but not to much! And the right when we were getting ready to leave, a bunny...or rabbit, showed himself for all the kids to see. They were in awww... I gotta cute pic of them just standing a looking at that bunny. That's didn't last long though. They soon started chasing after that poor thing.

What A PaRtY!!

Man, we had quite a party over the weekend! And the weather couldn't have been nicer to us!

Saturday was Piper's 2nd birthday party! That was a ton of fun! We painted pots, planted flowers, ran around the backyard, colored, Meagan did face painting, Liza & Nicky did balloon animals, we had cake, hot dogs, and blew bubbles!!!!!! Oh We Had So Much Fun!

Friday, Piper picked out her flowers that she wanted all the kiddos to plant in the pots they were to paint. She walked up and down all the isles of flowers & smelled them all. It was so cute. She was very serious!

Maggie Belle!

The Face of a Birthday Girl

We were out past 1o o'clock last night with the girls. We were out doing some birthday party shopping. So the girls went to bed way past their bedtimes last night.

Juliet came to our bed about 4 in the morning and Presley came in about 730 ish.

they both slept in until about 845 or so. They look so sweet!

And here is the face of our birthday girl! She is two today! I still remember so clearly everything about the day I went to be induced to have her! Stress, nose bleeds, high blood pressure and all!

I just love her!

And little Maggie Belle had her bath this morning. She soooo does not like bath time. Which is weird. I thought dogs loved water! Not Maggie Belle! Doesn't she look just like a Princess!

Okay, well, we've had a great start so far! Hopefully the weather stays nice and I can finish getting things ready for Piper's party and with any hope, John won't have to work late tonight!

WHAAAAAAA WHAAAAAAAA

Piper's birthday party is Saturday and Easter is Sunday and those weather people say it looks like it is going to RAIN all weekend!!!! All the party activities are planned for outdoors!

AND

Presley was sneezing all day yesterday & her eyes were itchy and at night she was grinding her teeth and trying to clear her sinuses. I soooo hope it's her allergies and nothing more. She better not be getting sick!

Good Luck Landed in My Garden!

Today, I started stressing a bit with party stuff: getting the house ready, the yard ready, the activities ready, the food ready, and etc. I want Piper's birthday party to be so much for the kids! I really hope it will be. John just asked me tonight if we were going to dress up like people out of an Alice in Wonderland story. I looked at like he was crazy...trying to throw something else at me in the last few days. I think he'll be in a top hat...who knows, he may have our balloon maker and face painter stand out as well. Not me though...I am going to be comfy....no costume. That guy is crazy!

John is still working on the lil' fence. It's coming along quite nicely.

And I mulched the front gardens. It's been years since I've mulched & I had forgotten how much is needed. We'll have to make a trip to Lowes to get more.

While I was mulching, I came across a lone little ladybug. I LOVE ladybugs. I heard some where a long time ago that they bring you luck. I don't know if that is true or not, but I like to believe it...makes me feel good inside. And, it's weird, but there is usually a ladybug around me when I am stressed. The 1st high stress time I saw one was in the waiting room at Methodist when John's dad was in the hospital. I thought it was odd to see one in a hospital. But I felt that little lady bug came to tell us that everything would be okay. And I like to believe that when I see one when I am stressed that it's just trying to remind me to slow down and and remember things will work out and be okay.

So, I love seeing ladybugs! And now, I have a little luck in my garden. And a little ladybug watching over my blood pressure.

Oh and Maggie went to the vet today to get her shots. She did great! And she weighs 19.6 pounds. Not as big as they thought she'd be by now though. They are now thinking that she may be a cattle dog/rotty mix. Who knows. It doesn't matter much to me anymore...all I know is that she's the perfect mix for us.

Dirty Kids = Happy Kids

I don't know about you, but I love the way fresh mud or potting soil feels between your fingers. Today the girls and I did some yard work and I had to move my clematis from the ground to a pot. And the girls helped. I'd give the girls chunks of the clay and they played with them for the longest time making balls and letting them cook in the sun. Anyways, it was just fun.

I read somewhere in one of my Parenting magazines that letting your kids play in the dirt releases some kind of happy hormone. I sooo believe that! I have noticed when we are outside playing in the dirt or sand or what ever, the kids are so happy and much better behaved when they come in doors.

It's just great.

I promised Presley that I'd help her make mud pies this spring & summer.

I also raked. I have no idea when the last time I raked was. Has it really been a year??? I found an OLD Easter egg. I didn't dare open it. We moved it with the rake and ants went everywhere. Gross!

I also found ants in the girls little bench that I took apart. We are sanding it down and staining it back to it's natural color. It's gonna be a work in progress & probably not ready for Piper's B-day.

And John started working on a little fence to go around our garden on the side of the house. Maggie has become quite the digger. She's digs at the mulch and gets under he fence to spend the day with Bob. Ivan locks his gate, so when she gets over there...she's stuck until she decides to go back under the fence to our yard. Stinker!

And tonight I made Maggie a tutu! She's a party animal now!

Kid's Dental Rocks!

If you need a dentist for your little one, I highly recommend them!

I made an appointment for the girls on 2 different days. I thought it would be hard by myself. But this morning the girls had a great start. Their behavior was great, they were not fighting, they just started out the door on a good note. So when we got there, I asked if there was a way they could see both girls. They squeezed Presley in and we were still out within an hour!

Presley did amazingly well! She got her x-rays and everything. She was somewhat scared last year and she didn't get a great cleaning, but this time around was perfect! They offered her sunglasses to where while she got her cleaning done so that the light wouldn't bother her. She thought that was cool!

Piper didn't do so well. She's not to keen on people digging around in her mouth. Not even me. It's a chore to brush her teeth even! But she'll get use to it and it'll get easier for her.

Neither girl had cavities! YAY!! The only bad news is that Presley's x-rays showed that her lateral incisor were not seen on the films. That means, she either hasn't developed them or she doesn't have them at all...that leads to implants when she is about 16 or 17 years old. We are just keeping our fingers crossed that she's a slow developer. Only time will tell though.
