Presley joined Destination Imagination a few months back. This program has taught Presley and her teammates to learn and experience creativity, teamwork and problem solving. At first, I am talking the 1st 2 months or so, I seriously didn't think it was going to work. I couldn't see the kids actually working together and pulling off what they did at the DI competition this past weekend. They totally pulled it off! Proved me wrong! They learned a script, worked through problems....TOGETHER, were creative, and were supportive of one another! These kids were awesome!
I am especially proud of my Presley! She has had to overcome stage fright! The 1st day they had to act out their play in front of just a few of us moms, she broke down...couldn't do it! She made herself so sick! Stomach ache, headache, even made herself vomit!. And up to the very last practice...even the one down the hall from were they were suppose to be really putting on the show....she had near break downs. In every practice, we'd tell her to speak louder...we couldn't hear her. I even told her my ears were old and she needed to speak loud and clear for me. She would tell me to sit in the front row.
Anyways, DI was lots of work. Long looong practices! And well worth it! I think it has helped her to come out of shell a tad bit. Gave her a lil' boost in her confidence!
