Road Trip!!!!!!!

We took another raod trip to Fredericksburg over Presley long weekend off of school! It was a super nice trip. We got to spend some quality time with Grandma Beth and hang out at the ranch with the rest John's wonderful family!

We took the LONG route there in the hunt for the perfect plate of BarBQ! By long route, I think it took about 8 hours to get there! But we found some pretty good BarBQ. Not the best, but it was good. It wasn't like up here in the DFW area where you get a huge selection of sides. Down there, you got potato salad, cole slaw, and beans. I only like one of the three.

The Salt Lick outside of Austin...
Girls are thinking
"After that long car ride....this better be good!"
 The meat....smells really yummy!
 Not $13 worth of food!
 Here neither!
Piper: 1 thumbs up!
Presley: 2 thumbs up!
Back on the road to Grandma's house!

So we spent most of Friday on the road, we did finally make it to Grandma's house about 7:30 ish at night.  We just hung out there for the rest of the night.

Saturday, we went to the Ranch!  That was FUN.  The girls had a blast and LOVE the country!

We went for a walk to hunt for rocks and the cow kept following us.  I think they thought we had food in the red bucket!
Here come a heard of goat!
Feeding time!
Those guys were H-U-N-G-R-Y!!!

Always posing.  She found a way to make an old feeder look cute!
Piper kicking over rocks and finding the perfect ones!
Poor goats......if they only were aware that there is no food in that red bucket.  They sure were hopeful and still hungry!
Darlene and Clyde Thomas' stove in their cabin.  So cute!!!!  Clyde Thomas totally restored it to working order!
1st time in an actual outhouse
Girl's 1st rides thru the ranch in the back of a BIG truck!
The guys shooting at stuff.  Guy stuff........
Even Joey took a turn.
Kids had a blast running around and playing with the new pup, Bonnie
I even caught a deer checking us out!
After being at the ranch and getting all dirty, the girls welcomed a shower and bedtime!
Sunday afternoon, we spent packinh up and the girls played on the front porch and with Joey.
Last, very important stop, The Spunky Monkey!  A must!  The girls favorite toy store ever!  Even better that cousin David works at it. :)
We had a GREAT trip and I look forward to our next one!
Hopefully real soon!

Looks like you all had tons of FUN! How long does it usually take you to drive there?

We did have a blast. John has a really wonderful family down there! It typically takes about 5 hrs to get there, but we somehow can manage to drag that out to a 9 hour trip!
