It's Booked!

We are heading to California this summer!
I can't wait!  We can't wait!  The girls are super excited!

We plan on visiting the beaches in San Diego and in Carlsbad, visit Legoland, and just hang out around our gorgeous hotel!

Well deserved trip for our lil' family!

The Lazy Life

My little family dreams of heading to the California beaches this summer....

This would make Presley and Piper's

first "real" beach experience.

I can hear their giggles now when I think about their little feet making fun barking noises in the sand!

I can see their little smiles when I think of them making their 1st sand castle or burying their daddy in the sand!

It makes my heart happy!

I want us to live lazy for seven wonderful days!

Gotta go....got some planning to do!

What's Up Doc....

Tuesday night, Presley was complaining of her cheek hurting.  We've had lots of practice with these wonderful childhood illnesses....so process of elimination I diagnosed her with an ear infection and maybe some allergy issues.   After giving her some children's pain medicine, her cheek quit hurting and that allowed her to really feel that ear ache.  But with no fever or any other symptoms to keep her home, I sent her to school until it was time to go to her doctors appointment.  I was up their volunteering, so it was no big deal if she wasn't feeling good....I could just leave and take her home.

So she was fine through out the school day.  Not a complaint from her at all.  She even said she feels well enough not to go to the doctors office. 

At 3, we arrive for Presley's doctor appointment.   They get immediately give her a strep test since her lymph node was huge.  The nurse leaves, the doc comes in.  With the news the strep test was POSITIVE!  I usually know when she has strep!  She had no symptoms this time around.  No headache, no sore throat, no belly ache!  Just an ear ache.  

So I am glad I took her.  She did have a double ear infection...at least I was correct in that diagnosis.  So now she is on ANOTHER antibiotic and will be good to go to school on Friday!

As we were leaving, I told the doc, "So, see you tomorrow for Piper's 4 year check up."  She stopped me and decided to save me a trip and see Piper right then.  That was awesome and unexpected.  Piper thought it was cool too....she didn't realize that she was about to get 5 shots!  Ouch!  Piper always seems to know how to make people smile.  She pulled down her pants and pulled up her shirt and showed the good doctor that she had her Yo Gabba Gabba underwear on.  She giggled....made everyone else giggle.  That laugh is so infectious!

Height: 39 3/4 inches tall (75%)

Weight: 30.8 pounds (25%)

BMI: 13.5 (-3%)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY LITTLE ROCK STAR!!!!!!!

Just a few minutes old

Look at those cheeks!  You are 4 years old now and I love that I am your mommy!  I love it when you call me mommy!  Sometimes I think it's cute when you call me "mother" too.  Just sometimes. 

I cannot believe you are 4 years old today! Time has flown by way to fast!  I still remember the day you were born.  It was such an emotional day.  Your grandpa had a stroke less than 24 hours earlier and was at another hospital.  He probably won't ever remember his 1st meeting with you, but I have pictures of it that I will cherish forever.

Here, it took a mommy's magic touch to calm you down. You were such a beautiful baby.  All 8.8 ounces of you.  I love your newborn scent, it's beautiful. And I love the Angel Kisses that you were born with on your face and on the back of your head.  Now days, you can only see them when you are too hot.

4 days old

Your big sister, Presley, adores you! She thought you were so neat!  But by week 2 she asked me when we were going to send you back.  She thought I fed you too much....all day long!  But know, she couldn't imagine life with out her baby sister, Piper.

7 months old

Your 1st meeting with Santa.  Looks like you guys didn't get off on the right foot from the very beginning. I love that lip!

10 months old

You have always been such a little mischievous child.
Your personality is really beginning to shine through.

1 year old!

Your walking now.  Still a lil' wobbly on your feet...but that's okay!  You can stay my baby for as long as you want to!  Gosh I adore you so much!  Things with you are getting easier and easier too.  You can feed yourself and drink from a sippy cup.  Awesome!!!!  Your eyes are still a beautiful shade of blue and your dimples are the cutest thing ever created!

You dance to music! You love it. When you hear music, you start to bounce and flash a huge smile our way and start clapping. Then grab our hands to get us to dance with you. I love it!

At a year old, you started signing to us!

 

13 months old

You have always been my snacky girl.  We taught you how to go on "auto-pilot" at a very early age.

15 months old

I can't help how in love I am with those plump toes.  I seriously want to just eat you up!

You started early crafting...and you had a pacifier FOREVER because you couldn't keep things out of your mouth.  We will talk more about that in a few seconds.

2 years old

You love being outdoors..rain or shine!  You wouldn't ever guess it with that sweet face of yours...long lashes that go on for miles, dimples that melt everyone you meet, and a laugh that is so infectious, but you have a TEMPER!  You are a biter!  You bit your sister many times!

For your 2nd birthday, you had a gardening party!

At 2, you developed a style all of your own.  You are turning into a little girl now!

24 months

A Penny For Your Thoughts... That's what the doctor said when he walked into the examining room to examine you. You swallowed a coin. I still can't believe it! Seriously, I thought I'd never be one of those parents having to take my child in for that. When it happened, I was in a panic! You should have seen your face when it happened.  You were in as much disbelief as I was. You kept saying, "Money mouth, Scout's money mouth". 

Your daddy kept trying to convince me that it's normal for kids to swallow coins. He said he swallowed several in his early years. He even told me to call grandma and ask how many I swallowed. By the way, that would be none!

Here's what happened.... Presley shook her penny bank till she could get a coin to scratch off a sticker that came in her Highlight's magazine. You were right behind her catching coins that fell out too. While Presley was with me scratching off the sticker, You were on the floor with your daddy stretching and arching your back over him. The coins slipped out of your hands and into your mouth. I could see it as it happened but couldn't move fast enough to block the money........ I wished I would of had some kind of speedy super powers at that moment!

I  called the doctor and took you in to get an x-ray to make sure it safely arrived in your belly and would have a smooth journey back to the outside world. The doctor said there was only one coin and everything looks okay.

Do you see the coin????  It passed a few days later and made a "cha-ching" sound in the toilet.  That coin has since been found, cleaned, and packed away for a fun story when your 18.   Only if you still took a pacifier, that coin wouldn't made it's way in your mouth.

Almost 3 years old

We've moved into a new home in Coppell.  In about a year, you won't even remember our old house!  You girls are having fun helping mommy and daddy fix it up.

Uncle Robert turned you onto the motorcycle world.  You've become my fearless little dare devil! 

3 years old

You love Dora & Boots, your doggie Maggie Belle, your new bicycle, and your new swing set in the backyard.  You are growing up so fast!  You no longer smell like a baby.  Now you've developed that puppy dog smell when you've been playing all day outside.  I love that scent too!

3 years & 3 months

You are having so much fun being 3! You make me laugh so hard!

I love you soooo much! In a couple of months, you are going to develop a crush on a teen named Justin Bieber!  Little would I know that it would last past Christmas and well into 2011!

 

3 1/2 years old

You still have yet to develop a liking for Dear Old Santa...

Just a few days shy of 4 years old

You drew your 1st smiley face!  You LOVE Justin Bieber.  You love him so much that you won't let Presley or I sing along to any of his songs in the car.  You want me to call his mommy for play dates, you call him your boyfriend, and you have several of his t-shirts and toys.  And your 4th birthday party was a JB theme.  That's what we like to call him in the Carrell household.

You have become BAT GIRL for Presley's softball team!  And your awesome at it. But I think you like playing in the dirt more than you like getting the bats.  Either that or your cute outfit you get to wear. 

You could stay outside in the backyard for days if I'd let you!  You often tell me to leave you home with Maggie Belle while I go get Presley from school.  I can tell you that will NEVER happen. 

4 years old

You still have a huge crush on Justin Bieber!  That was your birthday party theme!

You are taking tennis lessons, beginning to write your letters, and you love your ukulele.

You love love veggies!  You prefer them over having to eat meat.

Your favorite saying is, "Blah Blah Blah, Very funny!".

 When something is going good for you and not so good for someone else, you say,

"ding ding ding for me & wha wha wha for you."

Your favorite color is purple!

You 've been moved from a tweeny push bike to

your big sister's bike with training wheels.

You love playing in the sand and dirt...BUT you don't like to get dirty.

You love blowing bubbles.....

we will probably go through a billion ounces of the this year!

You don't care too much for princesses.

And it's best to ask you want your name is for the day in the morning.

Lately, you like to be called Rock Star!

You, my dear, brighten my day!  I love you so incredibly much!  I am so proud to be your mommy!  You are quite the little spitfire in the our lives.

Saturday was Presley's 1st softball game!

I Want This...I Want That...

Today I took Piper to Target and to Toys R Us to let her create her birthday wish list.

She had a blast!

All she has been asking for this year is a purple dress, purple skater shoes, and a panda bear farting a rainbow skateboard!

That's it. That is all she wants.

But I know there's lot more out there that she'd love to have...and I was right!

The Uniform Has Been Revealed!

Tonight at softball practice, the girls got their uniforms.

Nighty Night & Sweet Dreams

Before I go to bed, it's part of my nightly routine to go into the girls room to check on them.  You know, to make sure they hadn't fallen out of bed, make sure they haven't kicked every inch of their blankets off, and to sneak in one last good night kiss on their forehead.

Tonight when I went to their room, I noticed something

a lil' different and sweet.

Piper had crawled into bed with her big sister.

That warms my heart...

John And His Angels

Friday was a BIG day!

John and I spent most of the day at Presley's school volunteering for the Barnyard Bash. And Piper spent the day with her grandma and cousins.  We decided to go out for an early dinner to Sonic since the weather was absolutely beautiful and it was Friday night!

It was a fun dinner and I got some cute pics with John and his sweet lil' angels!

 

 

 

On a side note, the Barnyard Bash was so much fun!  We had a petting farm, pony rides, relay games, veggie farming, picnic, and an ice cream man!!!!!!
