The Hunt Is On!

Selling our home is so bitter sweet! I love it, but I know it's time to move on. But it is slim pickin's out there! I don't know if it's because there just isn't many houses out there in our price range or if it's the 1st time home buyers tax credit thing creating a buying frenzy or what! But we aren't finding anything that has satisfied us 100%. It's super depressing and I hate it! We did find a nice apartment that we already signed up to rent as our back up plan. Anyways, here is what we've seen so far....

BTW, our inspection went well, we just have a few things to repair or bring up to date and our closing date is set for October 12th. :(

Roundrock Trail House, Plano
This house was a breath of fresh air. John and I fell in love with it! But for me, the bad out weighed the good. We loved this house though! It has a fairly new a/c, new radiant barrier stuff, NEW WINDOWS...big ones! It was so nice and soooo affordable. BUT unfortunately it was on a busy, super busy street, it was about 300 sq feet too small, no closet space for storage, only 1 master closet....it equalled one of mine now. Ummm, the girl's bedroom would have to be in front of the house. And I am just not comfortable with that. But gosh, I loved this house. OH....great schools and neighborhood!

Pretty dining. The floor plan was nice and open. Very airy!

New windows! They turned one of the bedrooms into the TV room.

The master bedroom....with an open bathroom sink. Not sure about that. The toilet and shower looked like it was in a closet.

This house was kinda eeeewwwwy inside. Just didn't call out our names!

Canconcita Lane House, Plano

This house is HUGE, 3,500 square feet. But we didn't get out to see it. We just drove around and realized that it wasn't for us. And there was a registered sex offender right down the street. It had horrible foundation problems too! The garage looks like it has dropped!

Oakhill House, Plano

This house was in not so great neighborhood. But we still had to go check it out. I think some one died in this house. And they tried to cover it up by updating things. It just wasn't working for us. It was a pretty house, but no trees in the front yard.

This was one of John's early online favorites.

Upon drive up, it quickly went to the bottom of the list.

The burglar bars scared me. I kept thinking of Freddy Krueger.

The kitchen looks okay, then when you look down, you see that the walls are separating from the floors. Not a good sign!

This house, old, nasty, too much wall paper, too much wood paneling (I have already got that), AND it also had water damage and foundation issues....one of the pics below show a crack in the wall.

Early Morn House, Plano

This house was one of my online favorites. It has GREAT schools & trees & great neighborhood! But it was too much to tackle. The house needed a total updating starting with the blue carpet!

That kitchen would need to be gutted! I also don't understand how you can ask $180,000 for a house with all the original appliances still in it. That microwave above the stove is something from the dinosaur age!

What's with wooden shutters on the inside of the house? Just thinking about all the work this house needs gives me a headache.

Greenstone House, Carrollton

This house is a forclosure. From the outside, it looks like it needs a little TLC. From the inside, it looks like it needed to be gutted and redone. The foundation would need to be cleaned and sealed to get rid of the stench that rose from those floors! And the house leaned....you could literally put a ball in one corner and watch it roll to the other end of the house. I am sure it was gorgeous at one time....but not any more. I didn't even finish snapping pictures, I was sooo distgusted. There were pee stains all over the floor. Maybe squaters came in....who knows.

Edgefield House, Plano

This house had major water damage and needed some major foundation work! We are touching that with a 10 ft pool! NO THANK YOU! Looks pretty from the outside though.

CRAZY but GOOD!

Last week was so crazy and busy! With as crazy as it was, it was a good week.

September 1st, Tuesday
Zoo Days! And Mine and John's 6 year wedding anniversary. We celebrated by buying a Wii (it was suppose to be our family Christmas present....but we couldn't wait to open till then so it became our anniversary present. :)

We went to the zoo with my mom, Ryley and Aiden.

And before leaving we hit the carousal....3 times!

Later that night, we left for some reason and I guess we in a rush and didn't make sure Maggie's crate was completely locked. Welp, while we were gone, she got out and had the time of her life. She had all the girls stuffed toys off their beds spread all over the living room floor. Some had missing ears, some missing tails. But this poor poor pony got the worse of it! Piper cried non stop. So since it wasn't her fault that Maggie ate her pony, we went and bought her a new one.


Wednesday September 2nd

Nothing too exciting, I just experimented with a Rachael Ray recipe....Shepherd's Pie Stuff Potatoes. YUM!!!! YUM!!!!! YUM!!!!!

And we gave Maggie a bath....pew wee she needed it!


Friday, September 4th
Ladies night out! We have been so busy with house stuff....contracts, inspections, addendums, appraisals, etc.... Well, since we've been neglecting the girls we let them get dressed in their beautiful dresses and we took them out!

We ate at this cute lil' 50's diner. Great burgers! And if you wanted, you could eat breakfast any time of the day! We sat right under Elvis Presley. Sweet!

Presley posed near his star. She thought that was really cool to see her name framed on a star! She'd say, "Elvis Presley". And Juliet would yell out, "Elvis Juliet". FUNNY!

Then off to Sweet & Sassy for a little polish and glitter!


September 6th, Sunday.
Like the Wii, the Rockband for the Wii was suppose to be a family Christmas present to us. But we have no self control! So, I guess it became "the house is under contract" present to us. Anyways, the kids love it! And do John and I! Why didn't we get the Wii earlier????

After a morning of Wii, we headed to Aunt Debbie's & Uncle John's for some yummy Mexican food and swimming and games. We celebrated Labor day a day early.

Let the Games begin! It's on!

The kids were so calm today too. The took turns playing Aunt Bambie's DS and shared grapes.


Monday, September 7th, Labor Day.
We wanted a super lazy day! So we hung out at home all day. Napping and playing Wii and watching Twilight. Close to dinner, we got a call from Barbara. They were in the neighborhood for a short time. So we got together for about an hour and let the girls run through the mall.

Let me tell you....I love Vampire movies. I don't know why...but I do. But I sore that I'd never be a follower of Twilight....that has a teen following and I am (shhhh!) 36 yrs old! The dialogue was awful but Robert Pattinson (Is that his name?)...well his yummilicousness cancelled out the horrible dialogue (in my opinion). Well, anyways....just had to throw that in there. BTW.....I loved Lost Boys & Interview With A Vampire! Yummy and sexy vampires they were!

Tuesday, September 8th....My B-day.
The girls took me to the movies. We saw Up at the dollar theater. It was a real cute cartoon. And something funny about Piper has started happening. She gets so into these cartoon movies and doesn't want them to end. She loves the happy endings so much that when they do end, she is so sad and cries! She even does this when she doesn't like a cartoon (like Igor), but as long as it ends well...she'll cry!

And yep, that's water from home and McDonald's in their laps. :)


Wednesday, September 9th
Yesterday, John and the girls bought be a Wii Fit board thingy for my B-day.
We did some hula hooping today. That was pretty fun. This was the only game they liked on the fit board. The other games made Presley cry because she didn't do so well.
